Your First Roll

How to Use Your T2

Power Up & Prepare

Ensure you have a fresh CR123A battery and a roll of 35mm film. The camera requires this battery type for all electronic functions, including the lens and metering system.

Load Your Film

Open the camera back, align the film canister, and pull the leader across to the take-up spool. The T2’s motor will automatically advance to the first frame once closed.

Focus & Expose

Press the shutter button halfway to activate autofocus and metering. The lens will adjust, and the viewfinder indicators will confirm exposure. A full press captures the moment.

Choose Your Mode

Use the mode dial to select between Program auto, Aperture Priority, or manual focus. Each mode offers different levels of creative control over your final image.

Finish the Roll

The camera signals the end of the roll and begins an automatic motorized rewind. Do not force the door open until the process is complete and the counter resets.

Care & Storage

Wipe the titanium body with a soft, dry cloth. Store the camera in a cool, dry place with the lens cap on. For long periods, remove the battery to prevent drain.

Questions About Your Contax T2

What does the condition rating mean, and how is the camera prepared before shipment?
Each Contax T2 in our Reserve collection is meticulously cleaned, inspected, and serviced. Its unique cosmetic condition—ranging from Average to Very Good—is detailed in the specifications, ensuring you know its exact character. The core optics and mechanics are fully functional.
The T2 uses one CR123A battery for power, which is widely available. We recommend keeping a spare on hand. The camera’s automatic systems manage power efficiently, but battery life can vary with usage frequency and temperature.
Film advance and rewind are fully automatic. Simply load a standard 35mm cartridge, close the back, and the camera will advance to the first frame. After the final exposure, it rewinds automatically. This seamless operation is a hallmark of the T2’s user-focused design.
As a Special Order item, your selected Contax T2 ships within 7-10 business days after its final preparation and quality check. You’ll receive tracking information once it’s dispatched, and our customer service is available for any delivery inquiries.
