Getting Started

Using Your Contax T3

Load the Film

Open the back cover by sliding the latch, insert a fresh 35mm film cartridge with the leader reaching the take-up spool, and close the cover. The camera automatically advances the film to the first frame.

Focus and Shoot

Press the shutter button halfway to activate the autofocus and metering. A green light in the viewfinder confirms focus. Fully depress the button to capture the image with precise exposure.

Apply Exposure Compensation

Use the top-plate dial to add or subtract up to 2 stops of exposure compensation, perfect for backlit scenes or when shooting against bright backgrounds to maintain correct subject brightness.

Finish and Unload

Once the roll is complete, the camera automatically rewinds the film. Open the back to remove the cartridge for development. The T3’s process is seamless from start to finish.

Use the Self-Timer

Press the small button near the lens to activate the self-timer. A blinking light indicates the countdown, allowing you to step into the frame for group shots or self-portraits.

Care and Maintenance

Gently wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For the lens, use a dedicated blower brush and lens cloth. Store it in a dry place with the lens cap on to protect the optics.
